Almira Skripchenko is known as one of the most beautiful Woman Chess players in the World. Born in 1976, Almira is currently ranked No. 44 in the World women Chess Ranking list. Her ELO rating is 2436. Her peak rating was 2498. Almira is an International Master (Open category).

Almira's biggest achievement was winning the European Women's Championship in 2001. She also reached the quarterfinals of the World Chess Championships thrice. She plays in the German League (Bundesliga) for Werder Bremen and also plays for two other French clubs.

Almira first married Joel Lautier but separated a few years later. She married Laurent Fressinet later. She was already a French citizen (originally hails from Moldova).
