Judit Polgar has lost 9 points after her average showing at the London Chess Classic. She did gain some points towards the end to at least show a semblance of a fight with the top players, but she is obviously not in top form yet. Hou Yifan is holding on to her 2600+, but the other top seed in the World Championship, Koneru Humpy of India lost quite heavily. She is now below 2600. So we now have only two 2600+ players. The other significant ratings losers are Gunina and N Kosintseva.
Among the gainers, obviously Stefanova is the biggest gainer, climbing back to 2515. The World Champion Ushenina is not in the 2500 club, and so is out of the top 16 for now. We do not rule out the possibility of her joining this elite club if she continues to stay in her current form. Obviously, it will be hard with all the celebrations in her home country, Ukraine.
