Update: Sasikiran duly beat Negi and Gupta overcame leader Korobov in the 7th round.  News just in live: Alekseev has drawn Wojtaszek in round 7. Sasikiran has an upper hand against Negi. Gupta is fighting hard against Korobov but both are short on time. India No 3 K Sasikiran beat out-of-form Abhijeet Gupta in the 6th round at the AICF-AAI Chess Cup. The other two matches between super grandmasters Parimarjan Negi vs Radoslaw Wojtaszek and Anton Korobov vs Evgeny Alekseev were drawn. In the 7th round, Sasikiran will attempt to take revenge of the earlier defeat against Negi in the same tournament in an earlier round, while Gupta faces Korobov and Alekseev takes on Wojtaszek.

GM Abhijeet Gupta of India India's talented 22 year old Abhijeet Gupta is all set to break into the top 100 club of the world. On the November 2011 list, the 100th ranked player was rated 2651, so if all goes well, Abhijeet should make it. It will help him receive attractive invitations to higher level tournaments.
