Ciudad de Pamplona Chess - Vallejo Pons in the lead

Francisco Vallejo Pons of Spain is in the lead after 3 rounds of the Ciudad de Pamplona chess tournament. He was held to a draw by the experienced Beliavsky. Khamrakulov was the lone winner today. He beat young Maxim Rodshtein. The other two games were drawn.

Top seed Wang Yue was held to a draw, the third straight time. He has been fairly active this year and it remains to be seen if he can whip himself into action soon. The local players are stealing the thunder for now.
