Magnus Carlsen - World Cup and beyond
Magnus Carlsen is back in Norway after making a brave bid for the title. It is heartening to see that he is just a normal kid who likes to do usual stuff that kids his age do. His father talks about him helping out already in preparing cookies for Christmas and skiing around the beatiful slopes around their town !
It is always nice to see balanced individuals also achieving success so early in their life. One hopes things continue the same way.
On the other hand, Henrik Carlsen, Magnus's father talks about a prospective healthy rivarly developing. Magnus and Karjakin will soon be the top juniors with 2733 and 2732 respectively. They will be juniors for 3 more years ! Wonder if they will enter the pure senior ranks at 2800 :-). Nothing is impossible for these naughty kids who spoil adult players' chess parties.
